Time to get rid of all of the Ed shit. It's time to move on.

This is a Fans of Live website not a shrine to Ed.

Ed's moved on, Live's moved on - and we don't need photo's of Ed, info on Ed, Ed fans or Ed's crap.

Fans of Live - not fans of Live plus "a little bit of space for that guy who used to sing for them".

I'm fine to have the history and the "archives" but I'm sick of seeing this guy's face and I'm sick of hearing his name.

Bring on the new Live. Bring on the future. Cya Ed.

Live with a new singer can't really do much worse than they did towards the end with Ed when it comes to sales (which shouldn't be important to those who value integrity and the art itself), so I don't know what Nick is wanting to do if they fail.

Overseas LIVE at the end with did strong sales, particuarly in Holland. Also sales for SFBM were much better than for Alive or The Gracious Few in the US. SFBM reached #3 on the Billboard Indie charts, while Alive or TGF didn't make the top 25.

That said the new CD could do okay and should outperform ALIVE and The Gracious Few(just on name alone). Where new LIVE will run into trouble is on tour. They may do okay at first, but once the audiences sees that their is a new singer, they will be rejected by many fans. Like it or not, most fans go to see LIVE in concert to hear the hits performed by LIVE(with Ed doing the vocals). This new version will not suffice. You can't change what worked for 20 years and think it will do well.

Thing is, they're completely within their rights to continue with Live, and it's not their fault if fans are ignorant to what has happened. They've made things pretty clear that Ed isn't with the band any more, so if they piss off some fans who only went for Ed - fuck it - they're not the fans they want to reach anyway.

This new version can more than suffice as a band that produces quality music and puts on kick ass shows. Sure they won't live up to old Live, but then they're not trying to replace Ed's voice or recreate it. They're taking Live in a new direction, which happens to take influence from the older albums when it was more synced with their musical selves.

Which is what they did with The Gracious Few. LIVE was one of the more successful 90's touring acts even towards the end of their run. A proper reunion down the line would have done well Worldwide. Creating a new LIVE just waters down their band and drawing power. LIVE was still able to fill up 2000 capacity halls in 2009, I think new LIVE would be lucky to hit a 1/4 of that in concert. CCP should embrace the hiatus of LIVE, form a new band, and cover some LIVE tunes along the way.

Who the fuck are you to tell them what they should do? They are doing what they need to do. This is their life blood. They dedicated their lives to this and you have the gumption to tell them how it is. You pretend like you're some label exec trying to bring in a few bucks, yet you complain about them trying to grab money. Like Pokey said, there is nothing worse than some nostalgia act playing their past hits. Any band with integrity for their art would put their neck out there with some new music. You don't know jack squat about artistic integrity though. You just want to hear your hits. I hate to break it to you, it's not about you.
