I noticed that the 'hiatus and breakup' section in this article has been updated...

I've bolded the interesting parts of the section.

As is alleged in the Complaint, and as is confirmed in this Answer, Kowalczyk, together with plaintiffs, was a founding member of the group professionally known as "LIVE" and he performed and recorded with the group from the date of its formation in the 1980s until the group disbanded in 2009. At that time, Kowalczyk - - the group's lead singer, the author of virtually all of the group's compositions, and the moving force behind the group's success - - decided to pursue a career as a solo artist. Motivated by jealousy and animus, plaintiffs commended the present lawsuit on the eve of the release of Kowalczyk's solo album and just as he was about to embark on a tour in support of that album. In their complaint, plaintiffs assert - - five years after the fact - - that Kowalczyk owes them yet additional payments for compositions that he, not they, authored. As is further explicated in this Answer, Kowalczyk has already paid plaintiffs significant amounts in respect of his compositions to which plaintiffs had no lawful entitlement, and plaintiffs brought this meritless litigation in an effort to gratuitously injure Kowalczyk.

So:
1) Ed believes he had a greater role in the band's success than the other members.
2) Chad, Chad and Pat were being malicious in their claim
3) Ed has already paid CCP more than they were entitled to.

This is assuming that what was quoted above is correct. As you know anybody can update Wikipedia so take it with a grain of salt...
