Saturday night I traveled to the Gallivan Center to check out part of the Viva SLC concert — specifically, Ed Kowalczyk's solo set. I have always thought that Live's "Throwing Copper" was one of the best, most consistently enjoyable albums of the 1990's, even when most of the time you have no idea what Ed was singing about. Luckily for the surprisingly large crowd, his 13-song show was chock full of "Throwing Copper" songs, including "Selling the Drama," "Lightning Crashes," "All Over You," and "I Alone." His voice was in good form, and he stalked the stage with delight.
