I am so impressed with how americans sincerely believe that Bin Laden was in charge of all the biggest terrorist troubles over the last years.

I don't think that most Americans believe that. 9/11? Sure. Everything else? Eh, not really.

And who knows how much Bin Laden was involved with 9/11, but we know that he took responsibility for it. It is more of a symbolic victory than an actual one, but I don't think that makes it less important for the American people.

As for it being great timing politically, great timing politically would have been a year from now. The 2012 election is too far away for it to be all about political timing. That is an easy claim to make though, because no matter when it happened it would boost poll numbers.

Sorry I got back to the boards a week too late, but this so called confession was deemed fake by Al-Qaeeda and several other websites by 2007. Just google for more info, but I recall that was the case at the time, so no one really knows for sure.

The type of terrorist network Al-Qaeeda is, they would've accepted responsibility immediately, such is their M.O. If it was them at all, it was probably not influenced directly by OBL. Yes, Bin Laden commended the acts of 9/11, but he never actually accepted the blame - even so, as I said in my other post, I believe he was dead years ago, and agree with most of what Ex has said.
