Ed Interview, Syracuse New Times Options

This part really bothered me:

How was it transitioning from Live to a solo career?
I was responsible for all the lyrics and music for Live, so the writing process didn’t change much at all for me.

Not even the slightest bit of thanks or acknowledgement to those who wrote the music for much of the bands first 10 years.

The driving force of the music that I love rests squarely on the shoulders of Chad Taylor, Chad Gracey, and Patrick Dahlheimer. No one was more surprised to learn this than I was."

Way too true. LIVE was CCP with a frontman in my book, and I never dreamed I'd ever say that. It seems the majority of the fans felt that way, too, as when Ed took over their popularity went straight into the toilet.

I Think the hardened long timers who value the musical organic roots of Live lie in CC&P and take this objective view. There is no denying it. Most of us know this is absoluetly true now that we see them in their evolution to a new band with new partners. It's unmistakeable and undeniable. This is what drew me in to Live way back. Ed's edgier hardened voice with the hard rhythm section of Live and Taylors crashing chords. That mix was what moved the masses to see them. When it went on the slippery slope to the frontman..........meh.
