Great posts, Fish. Outstanding breakdown that I almost completely agree with! Aitkens, that version of LJ has been one of my favorites for years. God, that is pure passion and raw rock (that is ACTUAL rock...not the shit on Ed's new album).

Even with TGF now, I find myself listening to Live all the time. They were and are THE band for me in my life. Their first 4 albums for me were mind-blowing and life-altering, without exaggeration.

I would love to see Live get back together but ONLY if they all had a collective creative voice. I think one thing sometimes we fail to remember about Ed, though, is that he literally cannot sing the same way he did from 1991-2000. Don't get me wrong, the man is an amazing vocalist for his range, but the tenacity of the voice from the days of Live that I adore are just not there anymore. I legitimately believe that Ed would not be able to use that deep, almost screaming voice anymore - his vocal cords won't let him.

But that doesn't mean he can't make GREAT music that he can sing to. I'll give an example. On the last tour, they started playing "Hold Me Up" again (what a tragedy that this wasn't released). Ed's voice didn't have the same ferocity as it did in 94-95', but he and the band actually sounded great doing that song! Which tells me mostly that we can't just blame Ed's music on the fact that he can't sing, its the songs he writes! They are just not ROCK anymore, and frankly most are not good songs!

Again, I'm all for a reunion if the guys were genuinely interested in recording with each other again as friends. But ONLY if the creative juices come from all 4.
