What makes me feel like crying is watching those old videos and knowing that even if Live did get back together they would never again be able to capture what they once had. That's why I don't think they should even try. Ever.

But to me, Live at the 50% level of what we see in those videos is still better than anything else in the world at 100%.

I saw Live 3 or 4 times in the last year they were together. They had Wings and Sofia and Mystery in the set list. But they also had Iris and Hold Me Up and Mirror Song in the Set list too. And I must say that there was NOTHING in the world better than moments throughout a Live concert that gave you goosebumps.

That moment at the begining of the concert when the lights were out and the intro music started and you saw the band coming out and picking up their instruments and the crowd saw their shadows and started to cheer.

The first chord of the first song.

The chorus of They Stood Up For Love when you actually got what it means when Ed sang "to the One".

The middle of Lightening Crashes when you felt like crying and you weren't even sure why.

The performance of I Alone - a song you've heard 10,000 times and it stills blows your mind every time. Especially the bridge, where Gracey was showcased, and Ed sampled in other songs - and you knew that the band would soon ramp it back up and bring it home.

The stomping and jumping at the end of Lakini's Juice when those 2 simple chords get played over and over again in such a perfect way and the sheer energy blows your mind.

And if you are really lucky, and you've been a good crowd, you get rewarded with White Discussion at the end. And the experience is so surreal, that you swear God could take you right then and there and you wouldn't even care.

I got that at every concert. And it was 2008 and 2009 when they barely even spoke to each other and Ed was on another planet. I can't imagine what it must have been like in 1995. But I will still take the 2009 Live concert experience over anything else, every day of the week.

That pretty much sums up everything I think only said a million times better than I could thumbsup.gif

Their last show at the Starland Ballroom was one of my favs (1st time playing Hold Me Up, the inclusion of Gas Head, Top, Purifier, one of the best versions of The Distance I've ever heard, etc.) If Live never got back together again, I'm glad that was the last concert I saw because that's how I want to remember them. Now...Ed, Chad, Chad, and Pat if you read this...feel free to get back together if your friendship is reconciled...I'll be there rockin.gif
