Finally...the way hard-hitting rock n' roll was meant to be heard! The Gracious Few's album will be released on 12" double gatefold vinyl exclusively at independent record stores next Tuesday, February 15th! you can disagree all you want, but facts are facts. It is compressed to hell. And please, I hope no one else comes out and says "the band wanted it like that"....I read enough music forums, and people who don't know any better say that. I find it very coincidental that in 1994 all these bands all of a sudden decided their albums should be compressed....bottom line, it's usually not even the bands that approve of this, it's the record companies.

This whole topic may spark a debate, but again keep in mind I am fan of the band too. I am not personally attacking them by saying something sounds horrible. I am just trying to spread the word so more people become educated about how bad things have gotten in terms of music quality. A whole generation is getting used to overly compressed music, and has no idea how good albums can sound.

I really hate it when people speak about smth as a pro, while their "knowledge" is based only on "reading the web" and no hands-on.

That is why I also think that if a man can not play a guitar, he has no moral right to say that this or that musician "sucks".

I don't really think that is fair, that's like saying unless you play soccer at the elite world level then you shouldn't be able to say a players performance was crap because you can't do any better. Just because someone may not have physically have had the practice in something doesn't mean someone can't be well read or have great ears for listening. Sure someone who may play a guitar will have certain advantages to those whoe don't when it comes to giving feedback. But to say you have no moral right to say something sucks is a bit far.
