Kind of skimmed over it. Ed sounded good, band was weak on the Live material as usual. Can't escape thinking about what could have been or what should be when I hear him do Live songs. Got to thinking, maybe they could have actually made a record. Ed talked about being inspired by gospel and Blind Willie Johnson. TGF has been inspired by delta blues and such. Not all that different in many ways. Combine the two and it could have been pretty cool.

Not to be too negative here, but I think Ed's and the rest of the bands interpretation of "ROCK" is completely different.

Before SFBM, Ed said he had being listening to System of a Down a lot and admired how hard they rocked. He even said in a few interviews that he was tired of all the cookie cutter music and wanted to get back to some real rock and roll. This excited a lot of fans big time.

Then he went out with full control and brought us SFBM??? Real rock?? He listened to SOAD and then made that record?? Thinking it was real rock and roll somehow? Any real fan of decent rock and mroll music knows that there was nothing "rock" about that entire album whatsoever. Pure pop music ala maroon 5, plain and simple.

TGF came out with their debut album, and it's crystal clear that the guys had completely different ideas as to what rock and roll consists of. I think if you ask any rock artist, present or past, if they think SFBM is rock music, they'd laugh in your face and not bother glorifying such an idiotic question with a response.

Ed wanted to take a different direction and that's all good. I hope his fans are truly enjoying it. That's what it's all about anyways isn't it??

But I think the mans perception of what "rock" actually is is so faroff that it's actually quite laughable. How anybody goes from System of a down To SFBM is way beyond me. I think a shitload of loyal long time fans gave up after hearing him say the new record was going to rock like the old days and then they hear 'La da da da...dad a dada...." .....and "oooooh baby let my loving ease your pain" I think that's when many fans started to truly realize that this guy is completely off his rocker.
