Liking the new KOL record.

They are taking a beating for being more produced as they continue to evolve but they are still writing compelling music. All the talk of them being sellouts is a bunch of garbage. I get that some of their diehards are missing the raw sound but that's what happens as a band matures and has more tools at their disposal. More polished? Yes. Sellouts? No.

I have to agree with you on both fronts. I like the album. I've been listening to it constantly. And it is very much more produced and I can understand that some fans from back in the day would be a little pissed. But it's a natural part of band evolution. It happens.

It's a catch 22 isn't it - bands struggle for years (except in the UK in the case of KOL) and are known for a sound, by choice or necessity. The band develops a solid core of fans. They tour like dogs, word spreads, the band becomes popular. Band gets Top 40 hit, etc. Band gets introduced to new industry players and have more opportunities. They take the opportunities and then are called sell-outs. Whaddya do?
