Ed performed I Alone, Grace, Drink and Lightening Crashes on 104.5 FM in Philly today. Here is link to the site:

FM 104.5 Studio Performance

Grace sounded amazing. Lightening Crashes was what it has always been at its best.

He was wearing some geeky glasses, a nerdy v-neck sweater with a tie, and a cap on his head. He kind of looked like the geeky Ed from high school. I've seen Ed look grunge, and of course look very cool. But I haven't seen him go for the intentionally ugly-down look before. I wish I was good looking enough to be able to go for that look on purpose.

I'm really looking forward to seeing Ed Saturday night. I will have photos to share.

I love Ed's voice. As long as he is singing, I'll be listening.

When I heard that Ed was doing a solo album initially I visualized something like this....stripped down music with powerful vox (for aussies think Bernard Fanning's Solo CD); just something different especially after seeing him in Brisbane last year play so well acoustically.

Part of me I guess expected the Daughtry-esque cd we got and I kinda like it a little but I wonder seeing how good Ed is this way what might've been with an acoustic cd...songs like FOTM and Zion wouldve sounded pretty good.

thoughts?
