Guys--

I'm a little bummed that their concert got cancelled and that they have to split a show with 5 other bands now. I live right by the old CBGB which is a now a clothing store but they have awesome concerts there sometimes. I got to see Guns n' Roses there a year or so ago and it was pretty cool. Do you think its worth walking over and giving the owner there a TGF cd and telling them that if he likes it, the fans can work on getting them there for a private show. Think it would be a good opportunity for the band to play in a place that used to mean a lot to them and where they got their start, the old CBGB, and would also be an opportunity to get a private show in NYC. I'm sure it wouldnt be very hard to get someone from RXP there too (local rock station). Please let me know your thoughts and whether or not you'd make the trip to see this show.

Matt

You mean have a private show the day they are in NY? Unless RXP would have some kind of special deal with Live Nation, they would never let that happen. There are timeframe and location issues involved with that.

Don't get me wrong, it's a great idea! I'm sure they would love to play at that CBGB's location. That is actually a John Varvatos store and in my old job we put that deal together. If I'm not mistaken I did see a while ago TGF had some kind of involvement with John Varvatos.

It can't hurt to go talk to someone involved in the John Varvatos organization, but the store manager I'm sure isn't the person to speak to. This is their number on West 17th Street, (212) 812-8000, try someone in promotions. Or, you can post on TGF FB wall and if they think it's a good idea they can put it together at a later date.

As much as I would LOVE to see that happen, I just think there are a lot of obstacles working against you.
