Bold Prediction, Lives Future Options

I'm going to make a bold prediction and I'm sorry if people don't agree but give your thoughts anyway.
After listening to SFBM a few times (loving it) I couldn't help but to compare it to DOAD and MJ.
So then I started to think that Live are actually starting all over again, meaning perhaps there next album is going to be- no not TC 2- but back to the solid guitars and good old fashioned rock,
we heard this in BOP so it's definately there.- Thoughts?

I have to confess that I don't think MJ is that great. I find it dog rough and naive sounding. It's the sound of a young band trying to emulate REM and ending up sounding too much like them, but showing the potential that bore fruit on the next album. Not saying that there aren't some good songs on there because there are, but I find it excruciating to listen to from start to finish. The weird thing is I know I'd have loved this album if I'd heard it before TC, but the genie was already out of the bottle by then.

I do find SFBM easier to listen to, but I'm not sure if that's a good or bad thing. There are some cringeworthy moments and I do tend to stick it on while I'm doing the housework and my mind is not fully concentrating on the music. I do like it, but I doubt it's going to have legs for me.

Again, I have to have a good laugh at that. I've listened to Mj a million times and can't see any resemblence to anything REM has ever made. I can't see how they're trying to emulate REM whatsoever. The drumming is so far different it's not even comparable and the structure of the music is nowhere near the same. I'd like to see you name your reasons for saying this. Because I hear the songs on an individual basis and can't see ANY similarities other then the theme of some of the lyrics.

And what's wrong with that? I wonder why people even bring that up. Music has been like that for a long time. The greatest band ever like The Beatles, Led Zeppelinn, Black Sabbath, Pink Floyd..etc, all wrote lyrics that were similar in theme to other bands material. That only means that no matter what you write about, you are inevitably going to be writing something similar in theme to what somebody else has already sung about.

So I find the REM and U2 comparison really fucking dumb, sorry. I mean, musically, REM, LIVE and U2 all have vastly different styles and sounds and that pretty much fact. The vocal styles, the music......everything but the similar lyrical theme.

As for V being better then SFBM? Well, my opinion is that all of Celine Dion's disks are better then V. That cd is a fucking frisbee for me and about the worst music I've ever heard. Mcpheezy already went there about how utterly horrible it is lyrically so I won't even go there. And with the keyboards, horrible rap and RAILO, I won't even argue the point of how sickening that cd actually is.
