All this arguing over chart positioning and who was going to sell more albums and Ed and TGF pretty much charted the exact same during its 1st week (Ed at 166 and TGF at 168). Although, sales numbers could vary depending on how the sales of other albums were.

I understand the point you are trying to make but the musical landscape has changed so much over the past 15 years. Throwing Copper came out at the right time. The music industry was huge in the mid-90's and everything seemed to be taking off, especially in the alternative music format. Nowadays, cd sales are at an all time low and their doesn't seem to be the same passion by music fans as their was 15 years ago. As great as Throwing Copper is, I don't see it having half the success it had if it was released today. Am I saying TGF can't be big? No. Only time will tell but if they do, they would have definitely defied the odds. I think it's a lot tougher than some people may think.
