I ask this because it seems the past few years when a favorite band of mine releases a new disc, it becomes more and more common not to see them in Best Buy, which used to be the CD Mecca among retailers. I did not pre-order it, because whenever I do that my shipment is always delayed unless I pay extra for shipping, and once you do that you are looking at a $18-$20 disc.

So, where does everyone plan on going, etc? Any recommendations? Maybe we can all post here where we got it and for how much.....

(those who didnt pre-order, anyway)

I got it for 5 bucks through amazon. drm free beats itunes anyday.

i hate iTunes just as much as the next guy, but someone told me the m4a's are no longer ridden with DRM. I cant testify to this, i stick with lame encoded mp3s.

One thing I can tell you is that Funky, at least I think it was Funky, was right about the shit quality of iTunes recordings. I bought the Amazon digital copy the day of release while waiting for my Newbury Comics order to arrive, which it did today. Closer sounds light years better on the Amazon download than it does on the iTunes download.
