Came across an interesting site and decided to check out some LIVE pages from the 90's.

Here is the search find for friendsoflive.com: http://web.archive.bibalex.org/web/*/http:...iendsoflive.com

Check it out. Not all the links or html data still work, however a lot of it does and it's still fun to have a look.

Some I found are:

A web Archive from 1997/8:
http://web.archive.org/web/19990202180529/...ML/qt.html#news

Another in-depth archive from 2000:
http://web.archive.bibalex.org/web/2000040...endsoflive.com/

Those are just 2, but there are plenty more. I am in the process of checking out fansoflive.com - will be fun to see what other people find concerning LIVE using this web archive.

Have a look and post what you dig up!

Cool. thumbsup.gif

Edit: Here is one from the BOP era - I remember this one well! http://web.archive.bibalex.org/web/2004010...endsoflive.com/

PS: CT's tour diary from that era still works

...from that same archive in 2000 I posted above, here's some interesting reading about TSUFL:

The Story of “Stood Up”
Friends of Live has received numerous e-mails inquiring about the acoustic performance of “They Stood Up for Love” that many of you have been hearing on the radio in addition to the version taken from The Distance to Here. We wanted to take a moment to explain the intriguing history behind the tremendous growing popularity of Live’s third single.

This story begins in April of this year when Live traveled to Europe to attend the Edison and TMF award ceremonies, the Dutch equivalents to the Grammy’s and MTV respectively. While the three awards presented to Live would have alone made for a momentous trip, what seemed an incidental performance at Studio Brussels has proven to be a story unto itself.

During the time between award shows, Live was invited to perform for a radio and television audience at Studio Brussels. The band played acoustic renditions of “The Dolphin’s Cry,” “Run to the Water,” “Dance With You,” and even revisited, “I Alone” and “Lightning Crashes.” This was also the session in which Live gave the stirring performance of “They Stood Up for Love” that many you have been wondering about.

Immediately afterward, it was understood by all eyes and ears in attendance that even in the most routine of settings, Live had given the world something special. As a result, The Distance to Here has been re-released in Europe, repackaged with a bonus CD containing five tracks from the Studio Brussels session. Further, it was obvious to everyone involved that the acoustic version of “Stood Up” was thought to be a perfect accompaniment to the new single due out in the summer.

As reported here at friendsoflive.com, the response has been incredible. Where to begin... The repackaged CD has sold 50,000 in Europe in but a few weeks. In Belgium, the Distance has gone platinum, easily securing the #1 position this week. In Holland, Distance has captured the #4 slot and is approaching double platinum. Both album and acoustic versions of “They Stood Up For Love” are being played on the radio, as are both the music video and the taped performance at Studio Brussels. This week the single finds itself at #2 in Belgium and #19 in Holland’s Top 40.

In the United States, many radio stations are following this pattern, playing both versions of this mesmerizing new single. This trend will only continued with your support, so please keep those radio station request lines ringing!
