I think people were just used to the large tours LIVE went on when releasing an album and was not expecting the smaller tour schedules that we go from both bands. I am way more excited about seeing TGF though then Ed. In fact, now that TGF is coming a few weeks before I doubt I will make it to see Ed now. Im sure we will see more dates in the Spring as well from both. Intersting to see who gains the larger following though after both tours get going thoughout the Fall. nod.gif

When Birds of Pray was released, we did not get a very large tour at all. I actually remember the summer US tour was filled with mainly private shows, and most fans had to travel far distances to catch a show at all.

So TGF is playing a show a few weeks before Ed, therefore you can't make Ed's free show. Makes perfect sense. sarcasm.gif

Not if you don't like 70's rock with a poor man's cover of a Candlebox ot Live song thrown in.

I actually love how you have me crap for saying that TGF is making 70's rock, when the press release confirms it:

70’s rock bands such as Led Zeppelin, AC/DC, Black Sabbath, Pink Floyd or even the Rolling Stones influence the sound of The Gracious Few. They’ve made little attempt to mask their love for classic driving rock n’ roll.

Now if you're a fan of 70's rock music, that's awesome. I have just never been able to listen to it.

Ed and TGF are going for entirely different styles of music. Not one is better than the other, it is all just personal preference.

I don't think a lot of people gave you crap about it being 70s rock .. they gave you crap because you were calling it "hair metal" at one stage. The only flak you copped over it being 70s rock I believe was when you mentioned that with Honest Man .. some of their stuff definitely has a 70s rock vibe to it, no one disputed that, not even the band themselves. Not everything they have done has that sound to it though, and it certainly isn't the hair metal you described at one point.

TGF are more musically gifted than Ed's band, that is a given, I would say that makes them better. Ramy isn't half the drummer CG is, you can like the other band as much as you want, that's your opinion, but we've gone over this again and again. Ed's music is very safe, very basic, very unimaginative ... TGF's, whilst not exactly being completely original, are a much broader scope.

That is a matter of opinion. Ed's band have been able to cover the Live tunes way better than the Live guys covered Candlebox's Far Behind.

Are you kidding? The version of far behind was fantastic .. some people didn't like it as much, but everyone agreed they put their own stamp on it in a creative way. They changed the song to give it more of a kick. Ed's band just sound like they're trying to sound like Live and not doing a good job of it .. Live-lite might be the best way to describe them. They're not bringing anything new to the table at all. I will give you that KM's vocals on one of the versions of Lakini's Juice wern't real great. But the band absolutely tore it to pieces!

It's a matter of opinion which one you prefer. It's a matter of fact that the TGF boys are much better musicians than Ed's lame ass session musos. Ed's band don't even seem to get any time to shine, if they were so great you think they'd be showing it up .. they stand in the back and barely move a muscle whilst the master sings. TGF is a BAND, a cohesive unit. Ed's is a frontman with session musos.

Ed's band have about 3 jam sessions built into the set and I was surprised at how much they actually had to do on stage when I saw them last year. Ed actually interacts with each member of the band numerous times throughout the show.

TGF changed Far Behind, and made the song much worse in my opinion. There is no need for new spins on Live classics, they songs are great as they are.

How do you rationalize that Ed's changed all the lyrics??? Pot / Kettle theory again.
