Roughly 20 US dates is a good sized tour for an indie artist. Especially when they are touring overseas markets as well.

Not really but whatever. He continues to play the same markets over and over. Northeast and midwest. Nothing in the south except one date in charlotte. No Florida dates, no Texas dates. I would think these would be big areas to hit to promote the album but guess not.

He will get everywhere over time. It is more cost effective to tour certain areas than the whole country in one shot. They are also getting airplay for Grace in the markets where Ed has a show. Think of "Alive" as an indie film opening in certain areas of the country at a time and expanding as time goes on.

If Ed is an Indie artist building a fanbase does that mean he'll tour on this album forever trying to get it played?

Also - he has a built in fanbase, so he's not really indie. He is the voice of Live and after twenty years people are not going to jump on board like he's a new artist. That would be like saying Rob Thomas is indie because he went solo. He already had a fanbase too.

He now is independent (because no lable wants to pick him up) but he's not a true indie artist.

Rob Thomas is on a major label. If Ed focuses on the Christian market in the US, he has potential to gain a solid number of new fans.

Most indie artists are bands who for whatever reason can not sign with a major. Some are happy indie, and others are just trying to get deals. There is no real definition of a true indie artist.

I see the location for the Chicago show has changed from Lincoln Hall to the Park West. Any idea why Nick?

No idea. I think Park West has a slightly higher capacity than Lincoln Hall, so that is better for the fans.

It's listed as "Presented by Lincoln Hall and Schuba's" even though it's at Park West...
