My first concert was in Austin Texas, South Park Meadows. My GOD it was soooo freakin hot that day. Wish I could find the actual date....it was the SS tour. I even guessed what the first song was going to be....RATTLESNAKE baby.

My gf and I were having a terrible time because people 'surfing' kept getting dumped on top of us! It really started to piss me off, but then I was like 'we can either let this get to us, or we can just say fuck it and have a great time'....so that's what we did.

I heard Rattlesnake yesterday on Lithium XM and I started to think about that concert, and my first live song. I thought about how sooooo much has changed, but at the same time, there is alot that hasn't changed. Like the goosebumps I still get when Chad plays the first note of Rattlesnake....holding it just long enough for the rest of the +boys+ to thunder in or when they hit the instrumental part! It's the same feeling, every single time I hear it.

So, let's hear about some others (sorry if this is a repost, thought it would be nice to revisit).

first live show was the BOP tour in 03.

I had discovered live with TDTH when a friend gave me the album and I somehow totally flew under the radar of V (i was finishing highschool so i guess i was too busy on my computer...uhh...studying). Listened to the thing for 3 or 4 years. was never into music but this thing was the soundtrack to my life. I guess being so green to music meant that TDTH is a sort of yard stick that i measured and still to this day measure all other music against. To me it was my first and perfect example of what a rock album should be. How much better it was without the internet when others' opinions can influence your own experience of art. no.gif

Then i heard heaven and bought the album and pretty much became a fanboy. I enjoyed bop so much it was crazy. Couldnt believe the excitement going to the show, which i attended solo. most memorable moment was standing in the mosh pit like a sardine with a bunch of strangers, the anticipation was tremendous. was not into the fansites at this time so had no idea about what the gigs were like or what song to expect. Then that electric sonic boom exploded around the stadium and before the drums had time to kick in i began convulsing to Like I DO. FUCKING A! the way the lights were manipulated, the way ed walked out in silhouette, the beer, the sweat, the rock, cant fucking forget it. i ended up spastic in the mosh pitt with some old cows behind me telling me to stop jumping up and down. a lovely chick next to me snapped back "its a mosh pitt". ha! Take that old cows!

why was this so special? maybe because it wasn't just my first Live show, it was my very first rock concert ever! The mystery of the band, the lyrics, just everything. Which will never come back. the internet has ruined it all.

Wam - you alright?

These actually seem like grammatically correct sentences. Why don't you sit down and have some wine or something!
