Thought I'd put in the text of the article for easier reading since the page was a bit slow to load - and my 501st post!

Exclusive: Ed Kowalczyk Aussie Tour!
Posted by Dave-O 16 July, 2010 - 10:04 AM

Ex-Live singer Ed Kowalczyk spilt the beans about his new album and his split with Live. But what has everyone buzzing is his off-the-cuff announcement of an Aussie tour!

Triple M's Alexis Savaidis prised this bit of tour news gold from the lips of Ed when he was doing promo for his new album Alive, which is out today.

"We've done 15 shows this year and we're on our way to Australia in October/November," Kowalczyk revealed. "It will be a full Australian tour and New Zealand as well, and then South Africa from there. It will be a full down under extravaganza."

Obviously this is massive news for Ed's fans who love him, have his albums and are excited about his new solo project. But a lot of their reactions have also been 'what happened to Live?' After all, that band took up 22 years of his life.

"It's not a split but more an outgrowth and growing into a new phase," he said. "I'd been doing it the same way for so long I thought what would happen if I opened the windows and let some new musicians in and shake it up. And that's [when] I got really excited."

But what about this talk of court cases? Only recently the rest of the band took Ed to court over unpaid monies.

"Well the things that were said there are untrue and I can't really get into it, but I wouldn't close any doors in the future. Right now I'm 100% focused on what I'm doing as a solo artist and I've only done 15 shows and am anxious to do tonnes more cause it's feeling so great."

Ed Kowalczyk's new album Alive is out now.
