Just came across this video of Ed and Pat performing Merica where Pat plays the guitar. Can't believe I've never seen this before - it's a pretty good performance as well!

Really happy to have stumbled across this. There's a tonne of TC and TDTH era videos but not a lot of SS era stuff. So this is great to see.

Does anyone here know what chords Pat is playing in the video at the top? I really want a go at it.

I'm not 100% positive on this. But I think I remember Merica being in a strange tuning. Something like open E, tuned down 1/2 a step, and then a capo on the 2nd or 3rd fret. I'll have to look for my SS tab book from years ago.

If I remember this right...the strings would be tuned:
Eb
Bb
G
Eb
Bb
Eb
