Thanks to Nick for finding this.

I am really looking forward to the album so it's great to hear a little bit of what will be on it.

http://www.amazon.de/Alive-Ed-Kowalczyk/dp...97&sr=8-2-spell

To me Ed's on Soul Whispers sounds like it did way back. I think I will enjoy this album very much.

Samples were just added on Amazon.com. These samples are different than the Dutch site.

I love Ed's voice. And I am one of the few people who really loves SFBM. I still enjoy listening to it. I find it very uplifting. But honestly, after my first listen to these clips, I am really disappointed. I really like Grace and I thought that it showed a lot of potential for this album. But after listening to these clips, I really regret pre-ordering the album. Especially because that means that I supported Ed and encouraged this nonsense. I will withhold a full judgment until I get to listen to the album a few times, and I hope it appeals to me more like SFBM, but these clips left me horrified. They sound like terrible songs.

So the one song that you actually heard in full, you really like. I say maybe you should give the album a chance before passing judgement.

I agree, listen to the whole thing. That way you can pass judgement with having to hear people say "well you need to listen to the whole thing!".

It does bother me when people rip an album without paying for it. It just basically rips off an artist.

Sort of like how the artist rips off his friends? hehe.gif

Don't worry yourself over it, I got no enjoyment out of it, and had I paid for it then I would have been the one being ripped off. If it makes you feel any better it certainly won't be getting played anymore.

It aint justifying it to myself, I'm trying to make Nicholas feel better about it. I downloaded it for free and I don't have to feel guilty about it cos ... I don't.

I'm not trying to reason, lol you just don't get it.
I downloaded it for free because I don't think it's worth paying for, I won't be listening to it any more because I just don't like it. If I ended up really liking it I'd probably buy it or if I somewhat liked it I'd probably just not delete it and I'm sure Ed will somehow survive by not getting some more money from me.
I'll probably download the TGF album if it leaks early too. If I really like it then I'll buy it, I got a feeling based on what I've heard that I will really like it. I ain't trying to hide anything.

Although TGF might be different because I'll be in America when it's released so I could make it my first album bought in the US.

I downloaded for this reason as well. Guys, if we pay for this album it will be enabling Ed. He needs to learn that you have to be true to yourself and to your fans. I'm not paying for it because the more money he gets from this shit the more likely he is to continue down this route. If he fails utterly he might just apologize to the rest of the band and come back for a reunion album at some point.

Due to the random PMs of a certain board member, I'm sure about 5 of you are downloading it right now.

Can you honestly say that you don't have the copies of Grace and Zion and/or Acoustic Everlasting Love (Drink) that were ripped? What about any bootleg outside of the ones that were for sale (ironically, perhaps illegally)? Why aren't you the legal-music police when it comes to Ed?

The music industry has changed with the internet. It's illegal to download music unauthorized, like many have of Alive, but it's not immoral if we just want to determine whether or not we like it. If there were such a system that would allow people to listen to a full album I'm sure the record companies would oblige.

Long story short, wake up, get with the year 2010 and don't be defensive of Ed's product which isn't worth the asking price.

I know I won't keep my copy and most here won't waste the space on their harddrives, smartphones and ipods for Ed's Kelly Clarkson impersonation.

I don't like TGF's music, and I promise you I won't steal their stream when it leaks. I also didn't download Zion or Grace as they leaked either. Just because you can steal music in 2010, doesn't mean it is the right thing to do. And just because you may not like Ed's music, doesn't make it okay to steal.

Sorry you don't like the album Steve, but I'm excited to actually purchase the album on July 6th. I love the clips that I've heard, and I am pretty positive I am going to dig the album.

That's fine.

It's not stealing if you don't keep it. Other than music and movies can you think of any product that you can buy and NOT return it if you don't like it? Most food you can even return. The reason software can't be returned is because it's so easy to duplicate, there is no way to police it.

Since there is no way to appropriate police it, it does remain illegal. However what is "illegal" doesn't define morality, nor does it accurately portray "stealing". At one point in time assisting slaves as they attempted to flee for their freedom was also "illegal". The legality of something does not define it's morality.

I've already deleted Ed's CD and I will not be purchasing it.

Had I purchased it, only to find that the album is horrible, isn't that also injustice? I'm guessing no because you're all about padding Ed's wallet. I'm a capitalist, a true capitalist, and I believe that people should EARN their revenue. Ed, and "Alive" will not earn my money. As such, I no longer have that content on any of my equipment. No one is stealing in this scenario.

I find it laughable that you act butt-hurt about people taking a pre-release listen to Ed's CD and call it stealing when you in fact are an administrator on a website that for years, has featured links to unauthorized bootlegs. The word hypocrite comes to mind.
