TGF v. Ed Success Options

Based on what we know, who do you feel will have more success in the near future when it comes to album sales, general public perception and reputation?

Actually, the creative process changed with the recording of TDTH. Music and lyrics were pretty much done by Ed on that album.

That's the weird thing. TDTH was a great album and was very creative. Where did this creativity go?

The only fans left that actually like this new music by Ed and fanboys and fangirls who jumped on board during the V, BoP and SFBM era. Very sad.

It's not unusual though for lyricists to lose creativity, especially those around for over 20 years. I think most people would agree though that Live created 4 great albums, which Ed was a big part of. Most bands wish they could have a 10 year run like Live had.

I became a fan during Throwing Copper after the first time I heard Lightning Crashes. Before that I never listened to any music and that was the first cd I ever purchased. However, I also like a lot of Live's music over the past 10 years. I don't really post much in the Ed forum because I don't want want to hear constantly from people that think it sucks (which they have every right to think that) or I don't want to hear that I don't know what "real music" is (whatever that is).

Music is like movies to me. I love movies that have real emotion, typically lower budget, independent films but there are many times I have just like to sit back, relax, and watch a good popcorn action film (which are sometimes my favorite). When I listen to Ed's music, I realize it's not as "creative" as TGF but it's just something that puts a smile on my face and I can just enjoy it.

There would have been nothing more than I would have liked over the past 10 years than have Ed, Chad, Chad, and Pat writing music together and rocking out like old times. But that didn't happen. Now, I'm just happy that all four are creating music that they want to create. For Ed it's catchy pop songs (often times with Christian topics) and for TGF it's full blown rock. I may not like everything that will come out from both sides, but I'm just gonna sit back and enjoy the ride and see where it takes me.
