What OTHER Bands Do You Love or Like? Options

I've noticed in the ED vs TGF threads that some of us seem to have wildly different tastes in music, which is actually really cool.

I'm curious how everyone here would answer the following questions:

1) Between the examples we've heard of Ed's new music and the examples we've heard of TGF, which type of music is more your style?

2) What OTHER bands do you love/like?

3) WHY and WHEN did you gravitate to Live's music?

I think it would be really interesting to see the trends these answers would probably show.

Unfortunately, I figure it would take about 4 posts before someone was mocking someone else's reply or bitching about Ed or claiming TGF is evil or whatever.

But if that kind of crap didn't happen, and we all answered, don't you think there would be some noticeable trends? I sure do.

1) I'll probably pick what I like from both and listen to that.

2) I'm obsessed with 60s rock, so the Beatles/Stones/Doors/Jefferson Airplane/Jimi Hendrix/Cream/Big Brother/The Who. Even Bob Dylan, when I discovered that he had written so many cool songs. My obsession began with a bequest from my youngest aunt, who gave me huge piles of vinyl. She was leaving for Europe and wanted to leave her favourite bands to someone who would appreciate it. Besides the harder stuff, there's a shitload of 60s hits nobody remembers: on 45s!
I also have a weak spot for Kiss and the 80s glam rockers. Yeah, I know - but I'm not apologetic.
I like early AC/DC better than later. The Bon Scott stuff. Van Halen.
In the 90s, I was partial to Nirvana, Metallica and a lot of bands I don't care for any more. I remember listening to U2 , a bit of Collective Soul and Better than Ezra (because a couple of their songs were very Live-like).
This is HARD man. There are undoubtedly dozens of bands/performers I've liked and still like but my brain is blanker than the space behind Paris Hilton's eyes.

3) Although I saw a couple of videos from MJ and liked them I didn't really get into Live until TC. This is mostly because I was almost never able to listen to the radio or watch MuchMusic (Canadian MTV). Why I couldn't is a long story, but the upshot was that the only times I was able to check out MuchMusic it always seemed to be only rap/hiphop/house - so I turned it right off. The radio stations I had the chance to listen to weren't exactly playing a lot of new music, but in 94 I heard I Alone and was hooked. I had no idea it was the guys whose videos of Operation Spirit, etc I had heard and liked.
