Someone i think badman or merica actually asked ed in person and he admitted being a christian. im pretty sure his is a little more of an open faith (i remember a recent interview where he stated that praying doesnt do much good in the world) I know he thinks the bible is the best source of morality and guide for mankind but im not clear if he believes in the divinity of jesus or that he was born of a virgin etc...

well, if ed said that he was a Christian, then he does believe in the virgin birth, the dying on the cross, and the resurrection 3 days later. that is the criteria of being a Christian. nobody says, .. "yeah, i'm a Christian, but that whole virgin birth thing is just crazy."

when ed said that about prayer not doing much good (i heard the interview)... he was referring to prayer that he thinks isn't really "prayer". he was saying that when you are truly in prayer with God that you are like one with Him, and that most people just close their eyes and ask for something. and, that THAT isn't doing much good cause that's what most people do and look at the world around us. PRAYER... aka... truly talking to God is VERY powerful.

QUOTE(Pokey @ Apr 13 2010, 5:45 am) *
today I sneezed about 6 times in a row and at the end just said "God!" and she flipped the fuck out.

I used to work for Securicor in one of the offices that dealt with their courier service. We had two of the blokes in from head office for a week once. I don't even know why they were there to be honest. Absolute pair of rampant born again Christians who never shut up about it and weaved biblical things into conversations at every opportunity. They used to really creep me out as they'd walk up behind you silently and watch over your shoulder without saying a word. It's unnerving, especially when you're trying to type in invoices for the customers without making a mistake. My finger slipped on one occasion and I said under my breath "Oh Jesus" and hit the backspace button. He leant towards me and whispered in my ear "Please don't take the name of the lord Jesus in vain". This did my head in as he was seriously invading my personal space, his lips being an inch from my ear and all. Without moving my head I whispered back it didn't matter to me as I didn't believe in Jesus. To which he replied "Yes, but he believes in you" and with that he stalked off to freak someone else out. It was one of the most surreal moments of my working life.
