I just wrote a blog called Impossible Politics [link removed], which discusses my uncertainty about politics in general. I thought some of you here might relate to my ponderings. If you're interested then feel free to read, and I'd greatly appreciate any comments (on the blog page itself, preferably).

In all honesty, I want Obama to rule England. Dude's cool as fuck. Obama, or Bruce Willis.

Stories like this are EXACTLY why i support the recent health care reform.

I havent heard one solid informed argument from you- but plenty of Fox News talking points.. i guess because Sean Hannity says Obama is a socialist, it must then be true?

If you think that illegal immigrants don't want legal status, it just shows how little knowledge you have. Most illegal immigrants would do anything for legal status. If they had legal status they could go after the better-paying jobs, be covered by labour laws, take their employers to the law for non-payment of wages, etc. Oh yeah: and not risk their lives trying to get into a country that despises them.

first of all, if they want citizenship... they can get it. what's stopping them? they get paid under the table and end up sending most of the money to mexico to support their family. hey, if they don't like the situation... then why do they stay? why not go back to mexico?

A lot of welfare recipients are just people down on their luck who haven't got the education or the street smarts or the luck to get a decent job. And a lot of them are physically disabled - and being treated like drug-addicted scofflaws is just what their shitty little lives need

down on their luck? uh, people that are "down on their luck" receive unemployment pay for like six months or so... if you can't find a job in six months.. you're not trying. mcdonalds and wendys and burger king or any other job like that will provide insurance for their employees... you may get paid in peanuts, but it's a job and you'll have benefits. and, for the physically disabled.... i've already said that i don't mind the gov't helping these people... they NEED it. the bottom line is, is that there are people out there that are not physically disabled and can work... but, they'd rather just put in applications for jobs they know they wont get and have no intentions on getting just so they can keep their unemployment check rolling in. and, like i said, i know it ain't much, but obviously it's enough cause people do it all the time.

that guy in that link is fine to get help. he needs it. he is doing what he can to support his family. i have a niece that is a juvenile diabetic... i know how expensive their medical bills are. that man, can have whatever he needs as far as i'm concerned.

but, i'm not talking about people like him. i am strictly and solely talking about the ones that abuse the system... that is all. how can anyone argue with that?

Is it possible to know LESS about immigration and citizenship law?? Fuck, man. There's this thing the kids are using now - it's called google. Use it search for "US Immigration and Nationality Act" or Immigration to the United States
If you bothered to read anything, you'd realize that you don't have to be an American citizen to have taxes deducted from your pay - just an employment visa of some kind. If you want to live and work permanently in the U.S. you need a Green Card - ridiculously hard to get sometimes - for several years before you can get citizenship. But Green Cards and employment visas are generally given to the educated by preference.

Because their families need the money!! They came here for the same reason YOUR ANCESTORS probalby hauled their sorry asses to North America: because things weren't so good at home. You know, unless you are a native American, your family are immigrants too. And by "you" I mean everyone whose family are not native Americans (what you would incorrectly call Indians).

this is wrong because not one dime of the money sent to mexico has been taxed. if they want to work here, get paid, pay taxes, and then send their families some money... fine. but, that ain't what's going on. and, these illegal immigrants, that are not paying taxes, sure don't mind using the roads that are paid for by tax dollars or getting healthcare that legal citizens pay for. here is a direct quote from an illegal immigrant mexican women:

Situations like that are exactly why they passed the healthcare reform bill that you are so opposed to.
