It depends on how you define pop music. Because I listen to a lot of progressive rock, jazz, classical, etc. nearly all of Live's music falls under the pop label for me because it has:

-Simple chord structures
-Standard song form
-Only the rare instrumental section
-Choruses with often catchy hooks

There are songs that don't fall into the pop mold (WD, You are the World, TDAOC, LK) but there aren't many.

That is why I would say that TDTH, including the song credit changes, marked a big shift towards positivity. It did it in a classy and intelligent way though, which is what makes the newer albums so disappointing.

V even had some interesting songs, but the whole product smelt of cashing in on the current trends in rock music. After that things got really stale really quickly.
