Was the split a good thing? Options

Title says it all really...

We have now heard music from the two bands and we all know what the last album sounded like. Would you say that the two groups can do more separately than together or is the split just a huge waste of time for both groups because Live is really all they had?

I voted 'yes' ... Live ending to me was a mercy killing. I felt like the pathetic one in a relationship that was ended by the girl yet I keep holding out on hope she'll change her mind and not wanting to move on. Live barely impressed me with anything for nearly 10 years, and the previous 10 before that they blew my mind with awesomeness. Them splitting was like me snapping out of it going "thank god". I'd have absolutely loved them to continue on, but only if they could recreate the magic .. but they wern't, so in the end I'm a fan of the split with all its negative aspects.

Anyone notice that everyone who posted a comment said yes and gave reasons, yet the poll has more votes for NO without a single comment as to why they did? I'm just picturing a disgruntled middle aged wife frantically clicking on the no option and bitching under the nose cause the band split.

Just an odd observation I guess, kinda bored here today.

I thought this too before you said it.

To me, the split is a terrific thing. I wasn't proud of Live and wouldn't play them for my friends mainly because it was pop trash. Music needs to have passion and Ed was/is too happy and content to write anything worthwhile.
