Who else is pumped to see this? Its been a long time coming and based on what ive seen so far i think its gonna be a sure winner.

Put aside the fact that its compeltely revolutionary on a technical level, and the director is the same guy who created some of the richest and most groundbreaking sci-fi / action blockbusters of the 80's and 90's, the fact that this is a completely ORIGINAL idea is something to admire. It isnt based on a book, or a game, or a remake or anything that already has a cult following thereby ensuring it will have some wider appeal, its a brand new idea about a brand new world. I think it takes guts to do that these days.

plus the alien chicks look smokin

Just saw it tonight in 3D. I knew nothing about it going into the theatre. Absolutely blew my mind. Hands down, Avatar is THE best movie I have ever seen! This opinion is shared with my girlfriend and her brother who just saw it with me. Outrageously fucking good!

Avatar is THE best movie I have ever seen!

Was this your first movie?

To answer Wam, I'm just not into the storyline, the special effects don't impress me, and the movie just gives me that cheesy feel when I see the comercials. I'm just going to take a pass on it.

I was about to ask him that, thanks for stealing my line Hoody sad.gif

The more I think about it the more I agree ... visually it was pretty impressive, but I still don't quite see how it was ground breaking. then again i saw it in 2d, maybe 3d is a whole different story .. or not?
The story though, yeah there was nothing really original about it.

Still, I can't deny that it had something ... I didn't hate it, I didn't even dislike it and I can't quite place why I don't dislike it if I can't find amazing things to say about it.

Don't get me wrong (I dont mean it mean), but I would even say people who saw this in 2D aren't allowed to have an opinion about this movie. When I saw the (2D) trailers months ago on my laptop I wasnt impressed at all. For me it seemed like a computerfame-movie or something like Final Fantasy.
I thing very different now anno december 2009. The 2D-movie and 3D-movie, it's such a great difference. like someone posted earlier: this movie was made for 3D! I saw it twice (first 3D and than 2D). I know that doesnt change anything for the characters/acting/storyline, etc., but I think it was a HUGE difference for the total movie EXPERIENCE. It's really a CINEMA movie.

Without a doubt the best movie Ive seen in cinema in 2009.
