I just signed up for Eddie K's official (and probably only ) fanclub. As the main reason for my action was that the man wrote it was free! As a present I got a free bootleg (audio+video), which im not sure how to get tbh) and other stuff. Ohw and I just heard the studio version of Zion. Which at first wasa bit weird, but all together was quite cool. It didnt sound like anything from Live, but Ed's voice is great! The intro is a bit strange tho.

I always sorda scratch my head when the lead singer of a band wants to go solo then makes an album that sounds just like the band. Steve Perry of Journey, Rob Thomas? I mean there stuff didn't sound any different. Is it really just about having total control? When you think about it, it's the voice of the band that you associate with being the band. Sure, they may have a signature sound, but LIVE could never be LIVE without Ed's voice. VanHalen, while putting out great music, were never VanHalen again without Roth. I mean, Ed can go out and sing lightning crashes and the song would continue to impact people just like it always has. Chad, Chad, and Pat can't go out and do that. I think that's the real rub because they lose part of their identity and it's really unfair.

So, does the lead singer just know they have the band by the balls for the most part? I find it ironic, that for the first time in what... almost 10 years... we hear a song somewhat reminiscent of the LIVE we knew? I mean, Ed could really be a prick and make the "LIVE" album all of us have been hoping for for nearly a decade.
