Ed's Future Options

I think we all know that Ed has great potential. I've always heard people say that it might take a dark, depressing turn of events to get Ed back to writing some powerful stuff. If he allows this ugly break up to affect him in any way, he might use some of that brilliant introspective energy for his upcoming projects.

With that said, what do you guys see him doing after this solo record? Do you think he'll keep writing solo records? Or join some established band who needs a new frontman? I think he could fit in with a lot of great bands. I was thinking about different rock bands that would sound good with Ed, and one that jumped out was SafetySuit. Their music sounds a bit like Live. Another possibility would be some type of tv show. He's got great stage presence, and he's great with the camera. Or do you guys just see him selling coffee at ridiculous prices for the next 10 years?

If Live never gets back together, I hope Ed fronts a new band.. If he became the lead singer for a new younger rock band, I think it would do pretty well.

Ed's future?

What I want more than ANYTHING is for Ed to to take his site down and just post a message at his main URL that says:

Let it go!
Let it go, my friend
And let's get it back
Let's get it back together

Then I want him to post a Twitter or a blog entry in which he says that he has woken up from this bad dream and realizes that he became a slave to ego and he has lost his way on his path, but he has gone to the desert and has found his way back - back to the Ed that wrote MJ and TC. That he is not perfect and he faltered. That he became drunk with his fame and the California glitz. But he realized when he hit the bottom and he was alienated from friends and family and fans alike, that when he stared in the mirror, he saw what he became. So he is taking down his website and the store and the self promotion. He is deleting his Twitter account. And he is letting it all go, and is going back to the beginning.

Then I want him to apologize to the fans for the last ten years and especially the last ten months.

Then I want to to get spiritually lost and confused again.

Then I want him to call up Chad, Chad, and Patrick and apologize and beg for forgiveness.

Then I want him to sell his house in California and move back to York or Lancaster.

Then I want him to go out to bars and diners with Chad and Chad and Patrick in Lancaster and York for several months.

Then I want him to rehearse in a garage.

Then I want Live to get back together.

Then I want Live to create a new album together, with Chad, Chad and Patrick making a major contribution. I want the album to be produced by Jerry Harrison. I want the album to sound loud and urgent and sometimes angry. And it must rock.

Then I will be happy.

And I bet he would be happy too. And I bet he would get a lot richer and more popular too.
