This was posted yesterday on their website. Nothing new or significant, but always good to hear something positive from the TGF camp...

In a recent interview, Candlebox front man Kevin Martin told Columbus, GA radio station why he decided to form the new super group The Gracious Few with Live guitarist Chad Taylor, bassist Pat Dalheimer, and drummer Chad Gracey.

"I think a lot of bands are looking to play some different types of music that they are influenced by," Martin told WVRK radio personality Chris Chaos. "I also think audiences tend to get a little bored of the same thing over and over. With The Gracious Few, it brings something new to the audience, and a revived love for music to the musicians."

Martin said the band working on recording their debut album now in Sausalito, CA with producer Jerry Harrison, and plans to have the album out in late spring 2010, with the first single from the album due to hit radio in late January.

As for the sound of the new band, Martin says it sounds nothing like Live or Candlebox.

"Other than the voice, it doesn’t really sound like Candlebox," explained Martin. "We really stretched ourselves on these songs; they are dark but very rock. There is a lot of blues and a lot of Punk influence in these songs, but its still rock and I think people are going to love it."

As for Candlebox, Martin says the band will enter the studio in 2010 to begin working on their next album. Following the conclusion of their tour in support of their 2006 release Into the Sun, Martin said the band had 8 songs written, but were hesitant to immediately head back to the studio.

"We are just taking some time [off,] everybody wanted to do some different things, we’d been touring since 2006, and we just decided we really needed a break."

Martin says that his time spent recording with The Gracious Few has rejuvenated him musically, which is exactly what he needed before diving into another Candlebox record.

"It’s really exciting and refreshing to get to play with other musicians when you’ve been in a band for a long time," said Martin. "It’s kind of like cheating on your wife except it’s totally legal."
Members The Gracious Few recently announced they will be donating an Epiphone Les Paul guitar autographed by the band for a fundraiser on November 28th to support POAC, a foundation to support children and families who are struggling with autism.

If we are making claims based off of nothing, I'm going to say that Live will be back in 2013.

If Candlebox is going to record an album in 2010, it makes sense that they will release and tour behind said album throughout 2011. If so, The Gracious Few will be down a lead singer and probably be more open to a Live reunion. I suppose it all depends on the success of Ed's solo stint.

The guys were on the road too long and got sick of Ed's bs, 2 years apart may help that situation. Therefore, I wouldn't be shocked to see at least some Live shows on the schedule for 2011.

I can see 2011 also, but if for no other reason than if The Gracious Few doesn't do all that great, they will be needing cash and there's no easier way for them to make it, and very quickly at that, than for them to do a tour as LIVE.
