Alice In Chains, Jeeeeyeyeyesus christ! Options

I know we have a couple of resident Alice In Chains fans here. What do you think of the new vocalist? (if you've not seen him in action yet, have search on www.youtube.com and you'll find some - the Rock Am Ring is the best quality footage)

I had a "fucking hell - that's Lenny Kravitz!" moment, but I've sort of got over my skepticism after seeing a bit of footage. Well, you can't say he's trying to be Layne in any way - even not taking account of his ethnicity. But he does have a certain power in his vocal delivery that does the songs justice.

It's still all a bit weird for me, though, on several levels.

If you have to listen to any song, listen to Black gives way to blue. It is dedicated to Layne and built in his image. Pull up some lyrics and give it a little time. Acid bubble is also a rocker that will be stuck in my head all day.

I got over the shock a while back. And I'm really glad William has some new material that nobody is going to be comparing him to Layne on (don't look at the screen like that - you know I'm not the only one thinking that!). I like him a lot as a frontman.

Dammit - I can't do the listen to the whole album thing. What I've heard (about 4 songs) I like - Check My Brain not so much but this version of Your Decision an awful lot. It's like a reply to Nutshell.
