See for yourself. Granted, its just an article - but Ed twittered in response to it and said "Beautiful piece!" and seemed excited by it.

Is it strange that I don't want Ed to practice any specific religion? I liked it better when he asked questioned this stuff more (of course, that is a selfish thought). But come to think of it, "Take me on up to Zion" has Old Testament written all over it. At first I took it more as him just experimenting with the idea of "Zion" - a perfect place of comfort. But this article says that he has "devoted himself to God" and compared Live to Creed and Nickelback - God help us all..... (no pun intended)

Also, gotigrz, you need to open yourself up to the possibility that God might not exist. In my world, he doesn't, so all your rules are meaningles and you're just playing a game with yourself. well, what else is there to be said about ed's beliefs. he said that his "heart and soul has been saved, redeemed, restarted, rebooted by the Lord Jesus Christ forever".

another thing i don't understand, is that i get blasted for telling you my beliefs, but yet that's what ed does in 99% of his songs and you love it. listen to the words of purifier, take me up to zion, forever... those songs are oozing his love for Jesus Christ. and, i love it.

Basically I don't see how Forever exactly favours Christianity or Christ over any other religion.

well, i guess if you just go by his words... the songs could go with any religion.... but, seeing as how this whole thread got started, by the article that quoted ed saying that he has decided to follow Christ.... it stands to reason that's who he's talking about.

"the brighter the dawn" - the greater the reward or the clearer i see now....
