Hello. I have had a certain pondering for years, and I decided to research it today, but to no avail. I want to know who Barbara Lewis is, the woman to whom "Lightning Crashes" was dedicated. I searched the forum by keyword "barbara lewis," but it doesn't seem that she's been mentioned here. Does anyone have the straight dope on this?

No, not at all. Barbara Lewis was a friend of ours that who was a year behind us in high school. She was a big fan of the band. In 1993, she was killed by a hit-and-run in a car accident. We just decided to dedicate that song to her.

ARGHHHH! I tried four different searches in google, but I didn't find the right combination of search terms. Seems so obvious now. Thank you so much for finding that for me. I knew there was a tragic story behind that. There's always a tragic story when someone dies at age 20.
