I've been into paintballing for many years (never at any paintball place just with buddies out in the country) Lucky enough to have a friend who owns land.
We play on weekends. Love it. We got forts built and all that shit. I got a Tippmann 98 custom.
I gotta say, Tippmanns are like the AK-47 of paintball markers. Reliable, built strong, works like a charm. Plus with my 20" barrel sniping is beautiful.

Oh it does hurt. But it's up to you to dress up in as much clothing and protection as you want. It's fun as hell though. You can layer on clothing to lower the pain but it hinders movement and in the summer you will burn up real fast. But who gives a fuck. It's total fun.

I've been paintballing a number of times. First time would have been around 1999 when it was still a fringe sport in Australia and borderline illegal. Safety back then was quite lax - I remember we were allowed to walk around in the 'safe zone' with just a plug in our gun barrells. If somebody forgot to put a plug in the gun they were lined up and everybody got a shot at them. lol.

Since then, it's become more professional and there are about half a dozen places in my city that have full fields. Forts, double decker busses, trenches etc. It's great fun, definitely worth checking out. It can get expensive depending on how trigger happy you are but if you like to run around in the bush/pine plantations and don't mind a bit of pain then give it a go.
