If new songs didn't rotate out of the set, you'd be getting bored of them as well. Rattlesnake was a cool opener, but changing to TDAOC and then Simple Creed was a nice change.

I'm excited to hear Forever and Purifier this March(hoping that they do in fact play both).

Of course we would, but they were changing them before you got a chance to really enjoy them or give them a good run .. I doubt I'll see TDAOC in concert ever again now. I mean how many plays did it actually get?


Let's look at what Live could do:

I suppose there are a few songs they just gotta play each night, these could be Lightning Crashes, I Alone, Lakini's Juice and The Dolphin's Cry ... that should satisfy the casual fan .. then maybe throw in another 4 songs on the tour that are "hits" that alternate on different nights only 2 per night lets say TSUFL, All over you, Selling the Drama and Heaven. Then you got the songs that are "hits" to the hardcore fans, lets add another 4 that only 2 get played per night that alternate ... White Discussion, Overcome, Iris, Shite Towne.
Then you've got new material, lets say they're promoting an album .. you should at least play half your album in a setlist to promote it, so another 6 songs. (A good idea to maybe half way through a tour alternate to the other remaining songs .. dont see the point in releasing an album and not playing everything from it throughout a tour .. makes it seem as if what you dont play is seen as filler by the band).

So far we have a total of 14 songs in a night .. then lets say they play a 20 song setlist .. that's a further 6 songs that every single tour they bring out 12 songs from the past that will surprise everyone and have fans in a real buzz and excitement to see what they will bring out but only 6 per night ... the end result could be that you get a really interesting and varied setlist with something for everyone. Using this format if they did 2 back to back shows it could look something like this:

If they came out with something like that people would shit a brick with excitement. And the best part if the next tour would then have brand new songs from another new album, plus the 6 that they dug up from the past would all be different as well.
If I could whip that up in a couple of minutes there is no reason they can't too. Unfortunatly 2 back to back Live shows produce pretty much the exact same setlists in a different order that remain that way throughout a whole tour and then even into the next tour with maybe 1 or 2 songs that just interchange with each other.
