Let it be the first thread in the new section! Thanks, Dan thumbsup.gif

Anyone heard any news? Heard buzz that they are recording and announcing a release this year!

I find that 90% of what I listened to in the 90's (Soundgarden, Pearljam, Nirvana, Green Day, STP, ect..) I just don't care to listen to anymore. At the time I thought it was great music but I can see why it faded.

I feel the same to be honest. But I think the same about the vast majority of the music I've listened to over the last more than 30 years. You have to move on. It always makes me laugh when I look on places like Friends Reunited and see all the kids I went to school with are 38 and still list the same bands they liked when they were about 14.

That fills me with horror, to imagine only listening to 80s music and not having discovered all the great bands and music I have and still am in the intervening 25 years. A few stick with you, but there's only so many times you can listen to even stuff you love (and may revisit in the future) and not reach saturation point.

I agree to a certain extent. The part I agree with is that there's no reason why someone should be stuck in a certain time period and refuse to even listen to new artists that are coming out. Just as a lot of kids these days should attempt to listen to discover older artists.

I definitely don't agree in getting sick of bands you love though. Certain music is just timeless, and I could never get sick of it. If there are bands you do discard that you used to listen to, chances are they weren't that great to begin with.
