I was contacted by mail by a completely stranger yesterday, that asked for the song Lift me Up by the band "LIVE". He was at the press-screening of the movie 'Zack and Mirri...' in the US, and said he heard a song in it, that turned out to be by the a band called LIVE. He knew I had the song, because I once commented on the song on youtube, a long time ago. He searched all the albums of the band, but couldn't find it. He really liked the song (when he heard it during the movie "instantly leaveing me in "awe"," according to his mail), so I guess it's positive that non-Live fans, that aren't familiar with the band, notice an unknown song, appearently like it and trying to get it!

I hope that it gives Live a little extra promotion when other people will also like the song. It would even be possible, now the DVD release is near, it would stimulate the sales of their DVD a little, little bit, but that's just wishfull thinking.

Has anyone else here seen the movie, btw?

I saw Porno tonight with a group of friends and we totally enjoyed the movie. I liked where Kevin put Hold Me Up... very well done. I too wish they'd have gotten the rights to put the song on the soundtrack... they'd instantly get another $15 out of me, but what can ya do? I'll just have to buy the DVD when it's released next year.

I saw it last night as well, it was a good funny classic Kevin Smith film. Having "Hold Me Up" in the movie was just icing on an already entertaining flick. The song was represented well and featured all sections of the song including the fast-strummed bridge [with the 1/4 note break] before the final chorus. I liked how the song was represented from start to end. It also made it clear to me how much I desire a studio version of the song. It's such a good song that has me singing the opening "Hold me up in the arms...." in my head for hours after hearing it. I can think of better "technical" places the song could have been but I can tell Kevin Smith is a fan and wanted this song to be prevalent because he chose one of the more important moments of the film to use the song. It sort of gave it an emphasis and exclamation mark, which is why I think the song will get noticed and also why I think many people who buy the soundtrack might get upset thinking it might be on there.

I completely agree. I've been burned too many times in buying a soundtrack and it not having an awesome song from the movie.

I've found the link to my MediaFire account with all of the rarities spreading across YouTube, IMDb and other sites by people who saw the movie and went looking for the song.

People really want it. (Check out one of the threads on IMDb.)

In fact, yesterday I was looking through the download totals before I went to bed and "Hold Me Up" was at 251. As of right now, it's up to 488.

Maybe if there's enough support for the song, they'll release it as a bonus track on #8 next year... Pretty please?
