I was contacted by mail by a completely stranger yesterday, that asked for the song Lift me Up by the band "LIVE". He was at the press-screening of the movie 'Zack and Mirri...' in the US, and said he heard a song in it, that turned out to be by the a band called LIVE. He knew I had the song, because I once commented on the song on youtube, a long time ago. He searched all the albums of the band, but couldn't find it. He really liked the song (when he heard it during the movie "instantly leaveing me in "awe"," according to his mail), so I guess it's positive that non-Live fans, that aren't familiar with the band, notice an unknown song, appearently like it and trying to get it!

I hope that it gives Live a little extra promotion when other people will also like the song. It would even be possible, now the DVD release is near, it would stimulate the sales of their DVD a little, little bit, but that's just wishfull thinking.

Has anyone else here seen the movie, btw?

Hey guys, I just joined the forum to comment on the song and to find a place to listen to it (just heard it on Ed's site). I saw the movie on thursday night at a screening and when I heard the song during the movie, I immediately turned to my friend and said "This is a great song. It sounds like it's by Live". When I saw the credits, I was glad I was right. The song fits the scene great. What you've read online about Kevin Smith saying about the history of the song he repeated at the end of this screening. The funny thing is that he originally chose "Maps" by the Yeah Yeah Yeahs for the scene but the Yeah Yeah Yeahs wouldn't consent to the song because they thought that it was overplayed/overexposed. Thank God. This Live track is sooo much better. I've been a casual fan of Live since Throwing Copper but I haven't really followed them as much the last few years. I've seen them in concert a few times and I'd surely go asap to another one if I could hear this song live. Kevin Smith also said that the song won't be on the soundtrack or anything like that which I think has been discussed here (sorry about that). Sucks. If you don't want to see this movie (it's funny yet vulgar and gross in parts), you should go see something else and try to sneak into this about halfway through.
