What Makes A True Live Fan, What is your criteria? Options

I saw this post in another thread:

I agree. SOY is full of dumbass wannabe fans.

which leads me to the question, "What criteria does somebody have to meet in order for you to consider them a true Live fan?"

My list of minimum requirements would be:

- Has been to at least 5 concerts (at least one not at the nearest/most conveniet venue).
- Owns all of the bands albums (including Radiant Sea and Awake)
- Owns at least one physical bootleg (not a download)
- Has at least 1 song in their top 10 favorites that are not singles.

I may revise or alter this as I think about it.

Somewhere in my house, on VHS, I have recorded both times LIVE was on SNL. I don't think that makes me any more or less a fan than anyone else here.

Lord knows if I could find those tapes...they are so old!!

Me too, Tina!!! I also have a few videos taped of MTV as well as the Woodstock '99 performance.

I consider myself a fan...albeit a fan of their older stuff. I do not own Radiant Sea, nor do I plan on buying it. I really haven't liked anything that came out post TDTH. I tried, I REALLY did...just not the same band they once were.

if you haven't been a fan since TC you don't appreciate the true evolution of the band. and your favorite song is probably Dance with you

Obviously this is a silly thread because no one can dictate whos a fan. but even know my post was a joke, i cant imagine someone having SFBM or BOP or V as their fav live album. Im sure defenders will respond with a version of "to each his/her own" but this band published 4 masterpieces before these last 3 jokes and the quality of songwriting is clear.

its cool if you appreciate any album they do...i know i find things i like in every album they have.....but i want to hear reasons why someone would have any of the three albums mentioned above as their fav live album....anyone who is a "LIVE SENIOR" should understand what I am saying. A Live Senior isn't someone who got introduced to Live because of The River

Personnally My fav rotates. but the top spot is often filled by SS or V.
Now V fills this spot due to its multitude of styles. Rather that following a format like say Perl jam and holding on to Grunge Live experimented with differant sounds and vocal technique creating some of my favourite songs such as Forever, deep enough and Simple creed.

Personnally people who state TC as their Fav album are more often then not the people at concerts that as surprised that it was not their 1st album.

I was introduced with TC and White Discussion is still one of the best songs ever penned and remixed.

But move on. The band did.

If you dont grow and change you end up not being able to appreciate any new music. Or worse end up like your parents.
