Good album catchy tunes.

Why can't Live work something up like this?

Dude, we are Live fans. I don't think we should be calling anyone gay for liking other bands. Unless, of course, we're talking about Nick's addition to SFBM. laugh.gif

I don't think there is anything wrong with someone being gay. I teach a ton of students with that sexual preference and they are good people. Additions aside.

You're right. There is definately nothing wrong with being gay, just ask Steve.

But that's beside the point. The point is Live has turned into a bunch of sell-outs trying to write music tailored to 45 year old women and homosexuals. uhoh.gif

Writing music that is tailored for 18 year old frat boys like yourself isn't selling out though?

The guys are in their middle to upper 30s, I doubt they are tailoring their music to anyone. This isn't a new phenomena. Ignorant fuckwads like yourself were making he same complaints with Metallica and many other bands in the past.

People get older, their personalities, attitudes and demeanor change with time. A 40 year old Ed with the angst of a 20 year old wouldn't work well either. Live did what they did and it was great.

One day when your balls drop, you'll understand.

That's the biggest load of shit I've EVER heard. I don't give a fuck how old somebody gets, it has not a single thing to do with their creative abilities.

Because the guy has kids now means the band is no longer capable of writing good music? Lots of musicians age and their music is still creative and technically sound. Live resorting to 3 chord acoustic melodies is fucking ridiculous and there's no excuse for it. The music is uninspired and lazy. Nothing challenging or even decent sounding coming from ANY OF THEM. All boring 3 minute poor attempts at pop crap.

Getting older doesn't mean you completely stop trying to explore what you can do with your instruments.

That's not what I meant. Getting older doesn't stop what you can do with your instruments, nor does it mean you're capable of writing good music. I'm just saying that it's natural for styles and attitudes to change as a person goes from being a teenager to an adult raising his own kids. Live was their best when they were in their early 20s. The guys can't be in their early 20's ever again. Their age, their experience, their lives up until that point made them what they were.

They may try to get "harder" or "crunchier" on a future album but it very well could be forced and come off as an album as bad as SFBM or BOP. [I personally think those two are lives worse albums but they really aren't bad, just Live's worst].

I don't think the music is uninspired in SFBM or other late work. The inspiration has changed greatly. I alone and Lightning Crashes are both 3-chord melodies among many other great Live songs that are "simple" melodies. SFBM/BOP are no different than any other Live album in terms of chord complexity.
