Are You Superstitious? Options

Sharon Stone's ignorant ass remark about karma and China got me thinking about karma, and then about other beliefs and superstitions.

I believe in karma, but I wouldn't apply it the way Stone did.

As a kid I was kinda neurotic and phobic, I had lots of superstitions and rituals associated with them designed to protect me.

Nowadays, its mostly hooey to me - I don't have the insecurity issues compelling me to that kind of imagination and powerlessness. But, with the exception of being an asshole such as Stone, I generally don't judge others for what they believe in, I respect people for having beliefs.

What's your reality in terms of this superstitious type stuff - do share it might be interesting.

I'm not Superstitious in any way at all. I believe in what I see and what can be proved in repeatable experiments.

Saying you respect others for having beliefs is so PC it makes me sick... I cannot respect people for having some beliefs. Some believe that they need to bomb buildings for their beliefs and some believe they need their babies to go through an exorcism if they get sick.

I really think it is time we stopped accepting religious beliefs the way we do. If I met someone who insisted that the Earth did not exist before 1953, I would have to ridicule and argue with that person instead of respecting them. Why do we hear this chick talk about Karma and not automatically dismiss her as a delusional idiot? Actually, I think a good amount of people still did lol...
