I contacted Starland Ballroom and AEG Live about last night's dangerously oversold Live concert in Sayreville, NJ. I implore anyone who attended last night's concert to do the same. If no one calls the venue on their wrongdoings, this pattern of overselling shows will continue.

Letter I wrote to Starland:

To whom it may concern,

I have to issue a complaint over how Starland Ballroom's management oversold tickets to the Live concert last night, March 15th 2008. Stairways were completely obstructed, there were no accessible aisles to walk, and it was nearly impossible to move the entire evening. When incidents broke out in the club, security guards had to roughly push people out of their way, because there was no other way for them to quell the disturbance.

I've been to numerous concert venues around the United States, and never have I seen shows as dangerously over-capacity as I have witnessed at your venue (the Live concert in Nov. of 2005, was clearly oversold as well). I feel that your venue is not providing a safe environment for its patrons and many others I've spoken to about last night's show agree. We have good mind to contact the proper authorities to have this situation corrected before the next time Live returns to Sayreville.

Sincerely,

Nick Sacco

I don't mean this offensively, but it is always important to use proper formatting when composing a business letter. Doing so makes the sender appear much more professional and intelligent, and thus more likely to be taken seriously.

That being said, the salutation in a business letter should read:

To Whom It May Concern:

All words are capitalized, and it is followed by a colon.

Good luck in getting your complaints to be heard. This sounds like a very worthwhile cause!
