Does Ed actually Support Obama though? Or was he in a video without his knowledge?

I'd guess they had to get his likeness approval before using it. So whether he supports him or not, he is probably at least okay with this use.

Of course Ed knows he is in the video. He is in the video singing the lyrics and playing the guitar.

I went to Barak’s rally yesterday in Delaware. There were about 20,000 there. Most of them were faces you wouldn't ordinarily see at a political event. Young people. Minorities. African Americans from all walks of life. Young African Americans who looked like they were in the hip hop culture and black families and older people. There were people of all ages, colors and creeds. And it really made me feel hopeful that despite the things that we think separate us and divide us, that we could all come together as one people, and make the kind of change happen that our country so desperately needs. We are ALL this country. The displaced poor in New Orleans, and the inner city children without healthcare, after school care or the opportunity for a good education that can help them better themselves.

Those who say that Barak is peddling false hope and that his speeches are too eloquent for them to be backed up with any substance have digested the dose of politically motivated cynicism that Barak's opponents have served you. Hillary has had designs on the White House since before she carpet bagged her way into New York. She's a political operative with her finger in the air, following the winds of the politically expedient position of the moment. She’s beholden to everyone who has done her a favor in the last 16 years. Her idea of change is “crossing the isle and holding a bi-partisan committee”. That’s more of the same. Since when does someone need lots of experience in Washington to be able to bring about change? It is the opposite that is true. Not just a change of laws and policies, but a global change in the way so many in this country feel about their country and their leaders and the way the world views our democratic decision making and values.

Barak may not be able to fulfill all of the hopes he inspires, but I think he is the best hope for change.

It doesn’t surprise me that Ed was in that video, singing the line about change. It’s very unusual for Ed to step out and take sides and make a statement. But he must feel passionately about the hope for tomorrow that Barak can bring, as I do.

I just had to write this after watching that video. I get goosebumps when I listen to the words. It reminds me of the spirit of the Mental Jewelry album.

Here is a direct link to the video, which includes Ed in the credits:
