I'm going to see The Mars Volta in San Francisco on New Years Eve. Costumes are required. It could prove to be the wildest party since Andy Warhol passed.

I'm going as Moses. Here's a sneak peek at the costume and the new commandments.

The Mars Volta New Years Eve show in San Francisco was one of the most amazing musical evenings of my life. They are just sick and achieved the impossible for three solid hours with no break nor encore. Just solid music that scraped the parameters of the Universe. I was grateful for my pal Mac's presence, for two ears and one brain are not enough. The crowd was subdued, too busy listening to be demonstrative. It reminded me of the time I saw Pink Floyd in 1972 with the esoteric fans of the time. TMV truly takes music where it has never gone before. They begin over the edge and go from there. It is a miracle that such a cacaphony of noise is such beautiful music to my soul. I am changed forever.
