Since Live is wrapping up and the board members are attacking each other, I thought it would be a good idea to provide a place to discuss Live's work. And a good place to start with their work is Throwing Copper.

The Idea - Analyze the album (in this case Throwing Copper) song by song, stating whatever you want or whatever comes to mind about each song. Go into as much or as little detail as you want and then summarize your overall thoughts on the album at the end. Just speak your mind openly. If there is a lot of feedback, we can do it again with another album at a later time.

You can copy and paste the following to make it easy if you want:

1. The Dam At Otter Creek

2. Selling The Drama

3. I Alone

4. Iris

5. Lightning Crashes

6. Top

7. All Over You

8. Shit Towne

9. T.B.D.

10. Stage

11. Waitress

12. Pillar of Davidson

13. White, Discussion

14. Hidden Track (Horse)

Overall Summary:

Album analysis is a way cool idea to get back into the material

1. The Dam At Otter Creek
The quintessential opener –the conjuring summons “Be here now” binds a dark, deviant story with its setting to ethereal effect

2. Selling The Drama
A declaration of freedom and wisdom and logic so redeeming as to be resolving by its own device

3. I Alone
My favorite song in the whole world for a time, still and ever among the great loves of my life

4. Iris
The obscurity is so damn attractive, I hope I never think I’ve figured this one out, the mystery keeps turning me on.

5. Lightning Crashes
For the longest time, I was so moved by this every time the response was physical. The experience is no longer consistent, but when it comes back again, capturing me in its poignancy – its just like I remember it and just exactly like it says - I can feel it.

6. Top
I’ve related with this one so much it holds such personal value, both inflictive and healing at once, surreal. I love it like a hard kiss.

7. All Over You
Wham bam thank you man. Exhilarating

8. Shit Towne
F***in’ A - this is as meaningful as universal truth, for anyone from anywhere who’s ever noticed how separated we are in our existence from one another, despite our measurable proximity.

9. T.B.D.
Bittersweet melancholy manifested as genius

10. Stage
This song is on speed. Highly addictive. F***s my brains out. On repeat. Several times.

11. Waitress
I’ve had some fun with this one but in all has had the most practical affect on me, a positive influence to have some compassion where my instinct might be to not.

12. Pillar of Davidson
Mournful but stirring, resentful of all it acknowledges but empowered as well, just a masterful combination of complexity and simplification.

13. White, Discussion
The ultimate apocalyptic finale, nostalgic of MJ anthems and a culmination of TC glory

14. Hidden Track (Horse)
Sobering country-twang, unwinds the intensity of the TC mood

Overall Summary: Epic
