I was pleasantly surprised to find a Live-related article on The Huffington Post this morning...

QUOTE
Two days later -- exhausted from lack of sleep -- I went home to take a shower and return to work. In the car, I heard on the radio a song that had been released that day by Ed Kowalczyk and the band Live. It was called "Overcome". And listening to the song, exhausted, I was overcome. It was all too much. The song was posted on the Internet so that anyone could download it.

I downloaded it, and working with my partner and wife Pam Yoder -- we began to cut images to the worlds and music.

Music is a magical thing. It sometimes is the only language that makes sense...

Overcome was just used as a memorial song to sell albums.

Yeah, beat me up all you want over that statement, but it's true. And the funny part is that it didn't work.

As a side note, all of us need to remember the heroes who gave their lives to save others 6 years ago from today. Even on days other than Sept. 11th, I often think about how terrible that day was.

Can't blame Live for trying to connect it. I think the refrain worked and was appropriate but the versus just didn't mesh with the event.

The should have rereleased it with different lyrics to be empathetic to the event.

Either way, it's one of those songs that has lost it's luster with me for some reason.
