I honestly don't want Live to break up, as I think that if nothing else, their live shows still rock. All artists have ups and downs in their work, there are times when the creativity is flowing and nothing seems to stop them from creating amazing work. Other times, it stops as if a dam were suddenly built.

I don't think the last 3 albums were that great, but I did enjoy BOP much more so than the other two. I think that in order for Live to really create something great, something more along the lines of TDTH, in terms of song quality and flow, I believe they need to create together, and allow time to take care of the work. I could care less if I had to wait 2 or 8 years for an album as long as they were creating something that screamed creativity and genious in it's song style, lyrics and flow. Maybe Live needs to take some time to work out some music, then again, maybe they don't. But I would rather have them create and try to match what they had given us in the past than to just give up.

You don't get anywhere by giving up, and I don't think that's what Live intends to do. Regardless of what fans and critics feel, they are creating something that they obviously, at one time or another, feel very strongly about, and who are we to tell them they should hang that up?

But what's the difference between giving up and letting something go once it has run it's course? If Paul McCartney (no, I'm not comparing Live and Paul) retired now, would he be giving up? Or if Live split up, would they be giving up or letting something end that's time has come and gone? We can all speculate, but only Live knows the answer to that.

Paul Mcartney is nearly 70 years old. The men of Live are in their mid-thirties and still have plenty of good left to offer to the world of music(I think mcartney still has a bit left in the tank as well). I thought Live was breaking up in 2006, but 2007 turned out to be one of the bands busiest touring seasons ever. I also heard Ed in other interviews saying that he's excited for the future of Live. I think the band will continue on for quite some time.
