SecretInsomnia posted this in another thread:

It's really hard to imagine which one it will be, and if there will me an addition at all...
I think it would be very cool to hear Radiant Sea or Beautiful Invincible in concert in the comin' months, but since we don't even know what to think of those songs (nobody knew they existed at all, from which era are they, will they definitely be released at a rumoured b-side album), I think it's unlikely! But there's a chance (if they are really released) to perform those songs to promote the new album (especially cause Dutch radio said there would be new Live single(s) at the end of the year). Just like WDID and I walk the line were suddenly played in dec.2004, while those were also songs that existed for many years.
I think the best is bring that God don't never change cover back.

Now, if this b-side album gets released this year, will Live promote it during the Fall tour? Will they release a single to radio or start playing Radiant Sea or Beautiful Invisible in concert? To me it would make perfect sense since they have an extensive US tour planned with Collective Soul to back the release.

Could they also be planning a Holland/Australian tour to support this album or will they wait for their next studio work? I'm interested to see what happens with the b-sides and if Live really promotes its release, if it gets released at all.

"Beautiful Invisible" is probably going to be a cover single by LIVE if I am right. That song was done by Rachel Fuller in her "Cigarettes & Housework" album a few years ago. Rachel's version is very pianoy and melodic. I am hoping Ed and the boys rock it up, but they may just do the same sort of version. It definately is within Ed's vocal range and he should pull it off quite well

I agree. I Walk the Line is probably the most rockin' and edgiest song Live has released in recent years.

Guys you are misinterpreting the word "flopper". The song itself is good but no one really outside of the world of "live fans" got to experience it. Thus it was a flop.

It was never released as a single, therefore it can't be considered a flop. That's like saying Iris was a huge flop for the band. It just doesn't make sense.

Yep. If I Walk the Line is a flop then so are almost all of Live's songs.

On the other hand, most of Live's recent singles were indeed flops. But that's kind of unrelated...

Getting on radio doesn't necessarily mean your work is good, it means that you have a label that is willing to spend big bucks to promote you. Case in point, Heaven was a huge flop when released under Radioactive Records, however once Geffen took over as Live's label, the song climbed the charts steadily for nearly a year. It is all about the funds behind a song that make it a hit on the charts in the majority of cases.

We can blame the records all we want but if the product doesn't shine no one is going to notice it. I am pretty certain if you were to ask the band why their recent singles flopped they're not going to use the record labels as their scapegoats.

You can't tell Nick that, unfortunatly he is of the firm beliefe that Live would be the biggest band in the world if it wern't for those damn pesky do nothing record companies! Of course if the record company pushed it to high heaven the people who do whatever advertising tell them to do are going to buy it which would push Live's popularity up .. but really, who the fuck wants to gain fans that way? Unless you're money hungry I guess.

Yeah I've realized this about Nick. It's a all matter of opinion though. I would guess most fans would attribute Live's recent failures to the quality of the music released on the last few albums. All we can really do it hope and pray that their next album won't be another flop. I really can't see how they could release another disappointing album and survive it.
